I used to live on the grounds of a 1711 former rice plantation called True Blue Plantation. Today True Blue and an adjacent 1711 plantation originally known as Midway Plantation, are combined to comprise a gated golf course community called Heritage Plantation.
Heritage is a beautiful property, arguably one of the most beautiful in the Myrtle Beach area, but I'm not fond of the name. I think they should have stuck with True Blue.
The golf club house and restaurant at Heritage is a modern-day rendition of many of the original plantation houses that once dotted the magic place called Pawleys Island.
This photograph is a wooden cut out Christmas Village ornament of the clubhouse and those of you who live at Heritage will recognize it instantly.
